Study on the Mode of Constructing Multi-Subject Cooperative Volunteer Service for Older Adults

Synopsis

Voluntary service and public welfare activities are regarded as an important means to promote the third distribution and achieve common prosperity and play a key role in building a socialist distribution system with Chinese characteristics and promoting social development. By the end of January 2022, China has 221 million registered volunteers and 1.23 million volunteer groups. This study focuses on the development status and future path of volunteering for older adults in China. By analyzing the policy background, participants, service targets and types, this paper discusses the key role of volunteerism in the strategy of Chinese modernization and active response to population ageing. And through the case analysis reveals the role of "time saving" and other innovative models in promoting the construction of voluntary service system, but the current way of "time saving" faces the challenges of imperfect system, insufficient funds and low level of management refinement. It is suggested to further deepen the concept of voluntary service for older adults, strengthen system construction, improve organizational efficiency, constantly expand service content and resources, promote the modernization process of voluntary service for older adults, and more effectively respond to the challenges of population ageing.
