Investigation on Synthesis, Physical, Structural and Spectroscopic Features of Pr3+:Yb3+ co-doped Alkali Borate Glasses for Photonic Applications
Synopsis
The incorporation of small amounts of dopants in borate glasses is found to change properties of the host matrix and it could change drastically with the type of dopant and its concentration. In the current analysis, Pr3+:Yb3+ co doped alkali borate glasses are prepared by melt quenching technique. The ionic nature of the bonds present in the glass is explored by calculating the bonding parameter values from the absorption spectra. The orange color emission is observed through the luminescence spectra which denotes the utility of prepared glasses in various photonic applications.
