COVID-19 is regarded as the most serious health pandemic of the twenty-first century. People are more susceptible to viral infection due to the exceptionally high transmission rate. Patients with chronic asthma face a significant risk, as the condition and associated morbidities may worsen. The current study primarily focuses on the impact of COVID-19 in type-2 asthmatic patients. It also outlines the treatment options and medications that can be utilised to address mild, moderate, and severe COVID-19 symptoms in asthmatic patients, preventing aggravation. From several renowned databases like PubMed, Frontier, MEDLINE, and related websites like WHO, CDC, and the information was analysed and written in a simplified manner The progressive results were highly contradictory, as severe COVID-19 cases showed an increase in the amount of cytokines that might exacerbate bronchial tract inflammation, exacerbating asthma attacks. People with asthma need to continue taking their prescribed medication to prevent exacerbations of their asthma. Contrary to popular belief, certain data show that COVID-19 severity is reduced in type-2 asthmatic patients with elevated T-cells, since most COVID-19 positive individuals have a significant drop in T-cells. This helps to restore the balance of immunological responses, slowing the advancement of the disease. Due to a lack of research data, asthmatic patients must be vigilant during the COVID-19 pandemic and take all necessary precautions to stay safe.
